Terrace Garden Tropical Ayurveda Resort

The Terrace Garden Ayurveda Resort is located in the south of Sri Lanka, on the edge of the idyllic village of Jamburegoda, nestled in a picturesque setting of rice fields, tea and cinnamon plantations, offering an oasis of tranquility surrounded by coconut palms and jackfruit trees. The founding vision of Terrace Garden was to make authentic Ayurveda experienceable in a serene, natural setting, with a special focus on the traditional knowledge of indigenous medicine and ancient architectural principles, as well as modern ecological insights to preserve the environment free from toxins, plastic, or harmful influences. The resort, managed by a German owner who places a high value on quality and authenticity, allows guests to observe numerous bird species, chipmunks, and grazing water buffaloes amidst tropical nature, while the Weligama sea is just about three miles away. The resort combines luxurious comfort with health enhancement and natural beauty, thus providing ideal conditions for comprehensive relaxation and sustainable regeneration.

Jamburegoda is scenically located in the south of Sri Lanka and offers not only a relaxing rural atmosphere but also a range of interesting attractions in the vicinity. The region is renowned for its fascinating tea and cinnamon plantations, providing insights into traditional agriculture and production processes. Visits to these plantations allow learning more about the production of Ceylon tea and cinnamon, two of Sri Lanka's most famous exports. Nearby, Weligama offers beautiful beaches and excellent surfing conditions. Matara, with its historic Paravi Duwa Temple and charming architecture, is also just a short drive away. The region also invites exploration of nearby rainforests and national parks, showcasing Sri Lanka's impressive flora and fauna.

The resort offers its guests an authentic culinary experience aligned with the principles of Ayurvedic nutrition. The resort restaurant serves a varied selection of healthy and delicious dishes, prepared from fresh, local ingredients. The meals are prepared according to dosha requirements and aim to promote well-being and balance.

The Ayurveda Center (70 sqm) includes five elegantly furnished treatment rooms, designed in a traditional style. The enclosed spaces offer a quiet and private atmosphere, ideal for relaxing and healing treatments. An experienced Ayurveda doctor and a team of four qualified therapists ensure that each treatment is personalized and carried out with utmost care.

Outdoor pool. Additionally, you can enjoy walks in nature, Yoga and/or meditation on the rooftop terrace, as well as participate in cultural half-day excursions (bookable and payable on-site). These include visits to Weligama, Koggala Lake, tea plantations, Galle Fort, Matara, and temples. The hotel also provides a Tuk-Tuk to the beach for a fee.

The social project of the Terrace Garden Ayurveda Resort is closely linked with the "Support Society for Self-Help Jamburegoda Sri Lanka e.V.". This society aids the villagers of Jamburegoda through various initiatives such as providing donations in kind and medical care, recreational activities for children and youth, and educational projects. Additionally, the society promotes environmental education measures and animal protection projects. Through these comprehensive activities, the support society significantly contributes to improving living conditions and sustainable development of the community.
