Your Ayurveda Resort

The newly managed Roman Life Ayurveda Resort, located directly on the seafront on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, in the traditional fishing village of Talpitiya near Wadduwa, has been lovingly renovated following its acquisition in 2022 by the owner of its sister hotel, Roman Lake Ayurveda Resort. After extensive refurbishments, including updates to the pool, rooms, and kitchen, this renowned resort now shines with new splendour and has been welcoming Ayurveda guests and their travel companions with open arms since February 2023.

Location & Surroundings

Talapitya is a quaint, idyllic location in Sri Lanka, renowned for its tranquil rural setting and natural beauty. Surrounded by lush rice fields, palm groves, and dense vegetation, Talapitya offers a peaceful and restorative atmosphere, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. The region is deeply influenced by traditional Sri Lankan culture, reflected in local customs and architecture. Here, visitors can experience authentic country living, nestled in a picturesque landscape perfect for relaxation and unwinding.

Dining & Leisure

Enjoy the Ayurvedic cuisine in the intimate restaurant adorned with wood panelling. Depending on the hotel's occupancy and the season, meals suitable for your doshas are either served at your table or presented buffet-style. Signs at the buffet dishes indicate which foods are appropriate for your dosha. Should you have any questions, an Ayurveda doctor or the hotel staff will be happy to assist. The tea corner by the pool is a perfect spot for relaxation and unwinding.

Ayurveda Center

In nine treatment rooms, a team of two Ayurveda doctors and several experienced Ayurveda therapists ensure the well-being of guests. The herbal bath area, designed in granite look with a babbling brook, provides relaxing moments. Daily yoga sessions complement the therapy. German translation during consultations is available upon request.

Free Time

The infinity outdoor pool with Jacuzzi bench, the hydrotherapy pool, and the garden, complete with loungers under shade-providing palms, invite you to relax. The resort boasts direct access to the beach, perfect for extended walks. Swimming is possible depending on the season and weather. The surrounding area offers various excursion opportunities. I was able to recover well and have much more energy again. The food was good, very good at Christmas and New Year's Eve, large buffet with grilled fish etc.

I enjoyed my stay very much despite the short time. The driver Ravi drove me safely to the hotel and later to the airport. I recommend booking a room on the 1st floor instead of the ground floor. A small group like mine of 14 hotel guests was wonderful. On New Year's Eve we celebrated like one big family... Hotel guests, management & staff, it was more than perfect! The treatments are very good. Please make sure that fresh towels are used on all the massage beds. The food from the buffet and the large New Year's Eve buffet were excellent! Finally, there were tips for 26 employees (front desk, kitchen, service, massage team, night watchman, maintenance staff, lady who cleans the beach every morning....) We are happy to recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet right by the sea. Felt safe in the area at all times. However, not necessarily the right place for excursions or strolling around the village. Aruna the manager speaks good German and otherwise all good English. Many thanks to the super guests who had grown into a group as well as the wonderful crew!
