The Marienkron Retreat & Health Resort is located in Mönchhof, in the heart of Burgenland, near Lake Neusiedl. This location is distinguished by its tranquil and natural setting, nestled between gentle vineyards and the expansive Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park. Thanks to the mild climate and clear air, the region is particularly well-suited for relaxation, health, and wellness. Enjoy leisurely strolls along the lakeshore, observe the diverse birdlife, or explore the surrounding cycling paths. In summer, the area offers a variety of activities such as sailing and surfing. In winter, the landscape transforms into a picturesque ice setting, perfect for ice skating. Vienna is just about an hour away, and the nearby designer outlet offers exclusive shopping opportunities. The proximity to the Hungarian and Slovak borders also makes trips to neighbouring countries effortlessly convenient.

Fasting here means more than just "abstaining from food". It's a time for conscious retreat, internal cleansing, and physical renewal. Abstinence is not seen as a limitation; instead, the refined culinary delights invite you to savour each bite consciously. The cuisine is primarily vegetarian (with fish added on Fridays and meat on Sundays) and combines fresh herbs with local ingredients, mostly sourced from the Neusiedler Seewinkel region. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served buffet-style. The buffet offers a variety of warm dishes, accompanied by soups, salads, and freshly baked house bread. For breakfast, an omelette bar and balanced dishes provide energy for the day. The kitchen can also prepare special dishes on request, tailored to intolerances, allergies, or specific dietary needs.

For home: On request, the baker prepares fresh bread (e.g., wheat-potato bread) for pickup (for a fee). Every Thursday, the hotel is filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread (please inform by Wednesday 12:00 p.m.).

The 11m indoor pool (29°C) offers relaxation with a panoramic view of the birch avenue in the nature park. Therapeutically guided water aerobics sessions are regularly held in the morning hours. Outside these times, the pool is available for peaceful swimming laps. On the adjacent terrace, loungers invite you to pause and enjoy the view. The sauna area offers various relaxation options: Finnish sauna (approx. 85°C), bio-sauna (approx. 50°-60°C), and steam bath (approx. 50°C). For a fee, you can indulge in treatments such as aromatherapy full-body massage, herbal compress massage, full lymphatic drainage, paraffin hand bath, or fascia massage.

Fasting positively impacts both the body and mind on multiple levels. It strengthens the immune system, enabling the body to better respond to stress and pathogens. At the same time, it promotes cell regeneration: old, damaged cell components are broken down and new cells can renew optimally, boosting overall metabolism. By strategically utilizing fat reserves, fasting supports fat reduction and can contribute to a healthier body composition over time. The composition of the gut flora stabilizes, digestion is regulated, and the body's detoxification is actively supported. Moreover, fasting reduces stress as it calms the autonomic nervous system, increases mental strength, and promotes inner balance. All therapy treatments within the fasting programs are conducted in-house. The opening hours are typically between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

All movement and meditation sessions are led by experienced therapists, focusing from the outset on correct posture, appropriate movement sequences, and the proper use of training equipment. Simultaneously, you'll receive invaluable tips on integrating these exercises into your daily routine to promote long-term health. To be fully prepared, it is advisable to pack suitable clothing and shoes for both indoor and outdoor gymnastics.

Nature enthusiasts will find their paradise in the Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park. The unique steppe landscape, home to rare bird species, is perfect for extended walks. Each season reveals its own special charm. The region also boasts a rich cultural heritage: The Mönchhof Village Museum offers insights into past daily life, while Halbturn Castle impresses with its exhibitions and events. In summer, the Halbturn Castle Concerts ensure melodious evenings, while the Opera in the Quarry St. Margarethen presents grand operas in a stunning natural setting.
