Your Ayurveda & Wellness Resort
The quaint Haritha Villas & Spa, with just nine units, is perched above the southwest coast of Sri Lanka - nestled in tropical rainforest and only about 900 meters from the Indian Ocean. The location merges two worlds: the tranquility and seclusion amidst greenery, and the proximity to the coast and vibrant Hikkaduwa. The resort's architecture features a clean, modern line complemented by subtle colonial elements. Designed by British architect Gary Fell, there is a harmonious interplay of nature, space, and light - calm and thoughtful. Views over treetops and rice fields enhance your stay, while the resort remains intentionally private and intimate. The name of this luxurious resort, 'Haritha,' aptly means 'nature' or 'green' in Sinhalese.
Location & Surroundings
Hikkaduwa - A paradise for beach lovers and adventurers on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. This picturesque coastal town is renowned for its vibrant coral reefs, dreamy sandy beaches, and relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for travellers seeking to enjoy the sun, sea, and nature. Snorkelling and diving in the clear waters offer fascinating glimpses into the colourful underwater world, while surfers find ideal conditions on the waves. Hikkaduwa also boasts a lively beach promenade filled with restaurants, small shops, and authentic Sri Lankan culture. A destination that perfectly blends relaxation and adventure.
Dining & Leisure
In the semi-open restaurant "The View", fresh, high-quality ingredients take centre stage, preferably sourced from our own garden or local fishermen and farmers. The cuisine blends Sri Lankan flavours with international influences, embracing a genuine farm-to-table philosophy. Guests can dine in the modern restaurant or on the outdoor terrace by the infinity pool, choosing from à la carte, unscripted dining tailored with the kitchen, or a personalised menu recommended by the Spa/Ayurveda doctor. The lounge and pool bar offer a tranquil daytime retreat with selected drinks and light meals. In the evening, the open pavilion "Sala Sala" transforms into a vibrant meeting spot, with a view through the glass roof to the starry sky. Private dining, such as in a rice field or in your own villa, as well as cooking classes, can be arranged individually. Food intolerances can be accommodated with prior notice.
Wellness & Ayurveda
The Haritha Jungle Spa, spanning approximately 350 sqm, serves as the tranquil heart of the estate. Spread over two levels with views of a small lake and its own tea plantation, it offers a deliberately serene retreat. Tailored treatments from the realms of wellness and Ayurveda are at the core of our offerings. Two Ayurvedic doctors, supported by an experienced team including a Spa Manager, yoga instructor, and therapists, oversee the programmes. Four treatment rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows open up to nature, allowing light, air, and the sounds of the garden to enhance the treatment experience. The spa is complemented by a Jacuzzi, steam bath, herbal bath, sauna, sensorial showers, Vichy shower, and a lounge. The range of treatments includes classic Ayurvedic treatments, acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, singing bowl treatments, and cosmetic treatments, primarily using natural products, some of which are produced onsite or locally sourced. The spa also houses a 24-hour fitness centre. A platform overlooking the lake is available for yoga and meditation. Meditation sessions can also be organized at a nearby monastery upon request.
Free Time
The Infinity Pool (approx. 20 x 5 m) is serenely nestled in the tropical surroundings, offering a lush green view. The beach is just a few minutes away and easily accessible via the complimentary Tuk-Tuk shuttle service. Exclusive loungers are available for the resort's guests at the beach. The sea provides opportunities for swimming, snorkelling, diving, or surfing. Excursion planning (at a charge) can be gladly arranged by the personal Villa Master upon request: whether it's whale watching, jungle treks, or boat tours through the Balapitiya mangroves - the region offers diverse exploration opportunities. Cultural sites like the historic Galle Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage site), the Virgin White Tea Estate in Koggala, or the moonstone mines of Hikkaduwa are also within easy reach.
