The extravagant and stylish Haritha Villas & Spa, comprising 9 villas, is perched atop a hill amidst the jungle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, just about 900m from the Indian Ocean. This heavenly retreat is located in the Galle region, in Hikkaduwa, and opened its doors in December 2019. Let your gaze wander over the rainforest and the seemingly endless rice fields, immersing yourself in the harmony of exclusive wellness experiences, a blend of colonial, modern, and eco-friendly design by the award-winning English architect Gary Fell, along with the utmost comfort and privacy. The name of this independent 5-star resort is aptly chosen, as 'Haritha' means 'nature' or 'green' in Sinhalese.

Hikkaduwa - A paradise for beach lovers and adventurers on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. This picturesque coastal town is renowned for its vibrant coral reefs, dreamy sandy beaches, and relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for travellers seeking to enjoy the sun, sea, and nature. Snorkelling and diving in the clear waters offer fascinating glimpses into the colourful underwater world, while surfers find ideal conditions on the waves. Hikkaduwa also boasts a lively beach promenade filled with restaurants, small shops, and authentic Sri Lankan culture. A destination that perfectly blends relaxation and adventure.

Dining & Leisure

The semi-open restaurant "The View" offers innovative local and international specialties made from fresh, organic ingredients sourced from our own garden or local fishermen/farmers, all part of a "farm to table" concept. Dine in the modern restaurant or on the outdoor terrace by the infinity pool, with à la carte options, dishes tailored in consultation with the kitchen ("unscripted dining"), or a personalized menu recommended by the Spa/Ayurveda doctor. The air-conditioned lounge area and the pool bar serve delightful drinks and snacks, while the open pavilion "Sala Sala" offers evening cocktails and, thanks to its glass roof, a clear view of the starry sky. Private Dining (e.g., in a rice field), Villa Dining, and cooking classes are available upon request.

Wellness & Ayurveda

At the heart of the estate, the two-storey Haritha Jungle Spa (approx. 350 sqm) offers personalised wellness, signature, and Ayurveda treatments under the guidance of two Ayurveda doctors, supported by a Spa Manager and several therapists (Ayurveda & Yoga), all with a view of the adjacent lake and the private tea plantation. The spa features four treatment rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the gentle sea breeze and the chirping of birds, as well as a Jacuzzi, steam bath, herbal bath, sauna, sensorial showers, Vichy shower, and lounge. Acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, singing bowl treatments, and cosmetic treatments such as manicures and pedicures are also available. The spa products are predominantly made from natural ingredients, some locally sourced or from our own garden, others from England. The spa also houses a 24-hour fitness centre and a platform for yoga and meditation overlooking the lake. Meditation is also possible at the local monastery.

Free Time

Recharge your energy at the infinity pool (approx. 20 x 5 m) or take the complimentary tuk-tuk transfer to the beach (approx. 3 min.). Sun loungers are available free of charge for guests of Haritha Villas at the beach. Water sports such as swimming, diving/snorkelling, and surfing are available for a fee. Your Villa Master is happy to plan your activities/excursions, e.g., whale watching, jungle trekking, river safaris in Balapitiya, trips to Galle Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Virgin White Tea Estate & Factory Koggala, Hikkaduwa Moonstone Mine.

Elegant and authentically Sinhalese or in a minimalist style, the seven villas and two impressive mansions, surrounded by lush greenery, offer a retreat that perfectly combines luxury, light, and space. Each Contemporary Villa offers a soothing view of the greenery through deep panoramic windows. The terrace, featuring a freshwater pool and seating area, is ideal for relaxing with a book from the private library, while the personal butler (Villa Master) enhances the utmost comfort. Built atop a hill, the Colonial Mansion 1-bedroom features separate sleeping, living, and dining areas, a daybed, and a sofa. The outdoor area includes a garden, a wooden deck terrace, a lounge, and provides access to the Mansions' communal pool. The Colonial Mansion 2-bedroom additionally boasts an extra bedroom and both an indoor and outdoor bathroom.
