It's increasingly challenging to find places that exude a unique charm, being relatively undiscovered and pristine. The bay landscape of Marawila, located about a 45-minute drive north of Colombo Airport in Sri Lanka and on a quiet side street, is one such gem. The area is poorly signposted and not well-trodden – perfect for those who value peace and authenticity. In this region, one experiences a climate where high humidity is tempered by a fresh sea breeze. Health-wise, the Cinnamon Sea Health Care, situated directly by the sea, is ideal for guests with high energy and strong Vata tendencies, as well as for those seeking short treatments who do not wish to waste time on long transfers and want to maximise treatment time on-site. Only guests undergoing therapy are allowed in the resort – this principle remains even during the off-peak season. Wi-Fi is available in the rooms, at the reception, and in the restaurant.

The tranquil town of Marawila, influenced by Christian culture, is located north of Colombo, directly by the ocean, separated only by a small path. The beach may be littered by locals after weekends but is regularly cleaned by hotel staff. In the off-season, guests can enjoy long walks on the beach, while from October to April, the sea is particularly calm.

The Ayurvedic Tri-Dosha meals are served individually for up to 9 guests and as a buffet for 10 or more, following the recommendations of the Ayurveda doctor. Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed in the dining hall, while dinner – weather permitting – is served in the garden under the open sky. A soothing sea view accompanies each meal.

At this hotel, the focus is on the authentic therapy experience rather than luxurious amenities or a special ambiance. The Ayurveda treatment rooms are functional, tailored to the needs of the therapy; however, some areas show slight signs of wear. A dedicated team of Ayurveda doctors and therapists are available for treatments, including specialists in orthopaedics and mental health disorders. The hotel can accommodate up to 10 treatment rooms for its 20 rooms.

Treatments commence following a thorough initial examination and include classic Panchakarma components and targeted methods that are performed with lasting effects and gently. The familial and warm interaction contributes to the guests' well-being, and the entire hotel is appreciated for its cleanliness.

Yoga

Yoga sessions are held Monday to Friday at 6:30 a.m. in the rooftop yoga hall. Although the shala offers an inspiring sea view, it is somewhat dated. Guests are invited to participate in a Buddhist ceremony with a monk upon request.

A blooming garden invites you to relax and unwind. Negombo, with its over 500-year colonial history, is just 25 minutes away, and day trips to historical sites such as Anuradhapura and Dambulla can be arranged. A trip to the nearby Marawila supermarket provides access to a pharmacy and additional shopping opportunities.
