Your Ayurveda Resort

Located below the hilltop sister resort Somatheeram Ayurveda Resort, directly on Chowara Beach, is the AyurSoma Ayurveda Royal Retreat. An elevator connects the two hotels, while the third sister resort, Soma Manaltheeram Ayurveda Beach Village, is about 10 minutes away. At AyurSoma, the flagship of the Somatheeram Group, world-renowned and multi-award-winning Ayurveda meets breathtaking scenery. The fusion of Kerala temple and palace architecture in stone and wood is unique, the striking clock tower is visible from afar, and even the sunset here is a luxurious spectacle.

Dining & Leisure

Enjoy sea views while dining in one of the 2 restaurants, one of which is air-conditioned, offering delicious Ayurvedic buffet meals. Dishes are crafted from vegetarian ingredients, beautifully presented and marked according to Dosha. Occasionally, white fish or chicken is added to the menu following medical advice. For guests staying at the hotel, regional and international specialties are also available. Evening cooking demonstrations share the ancient knowledge of the Ayurvedic diet.

Ayurveda Center

The Ayurveda at AyurSoma is accredited by the Kerala government with the Ayur Diamond classification, the highest level of the new Ayurveda accreditation system (formerly Green Leaf). There are 20 treatment rooms on a dedicated floor, some open-air, for top-tier Ayurvedic treatments. The approximately 12 qualified Ayurvedic doctors and the team of about 60 therapists have years of experience and carefully tailor their approach to your individual needs and ailments. An English-speaking translator is available during consultations upon request. The Ayurvedic medicine is largely produced in-house and is GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified. Additional facilities include an Ayurveda Beauty Clinic and an Ayurveda Shop.

Yoga

Yoga (Hatha) and meditation are held in three yoga halls with sea views, one of which is open-air. Yoga sessions are conducted by experienced experts in a group setting, with private sessions available if needed. The Buddha Meditation Platform offers a 360° view of the Arabian Sea.

Post-Chemo Therapy

Quote from the Chief Ayurvedic Doctor (2022): "21 days of immunization and revitalization program along with body cleansing therapies such as Panchakarma [...], to recover from radiation therapy and rejuvenate the system. [...] we have excellent Ayurvedic medicines available to rebuild the system post-surgery. If [the guest] undergoes our treatments and follow-up medications for 3 to 4 months, a positive recovery and body rebuilding is possible over time."

Free Time

The oyster-shaped infinity outdoor pool with sea views invites you to swim and relax. The fitness area in the basement is not yet fully open, so an alternative arrangement with some equipment is offered next to the Ayurveda Center. Beach umbrellas, loungers, and towels are available on the beach. Additional facilities include an internet café, a souvenir shop, and a tailor. The range of cultural music and dance performances varies. The hotel is happy to assist with tour and excursion planning.

Each of the 63 rooms (approx. 46-139 sqm) masterfully combines charming antique craftsmanship with modern amenities. Exquisite details and romantic embellishments, special bathtubs from Spain (ideal for Ayurvedic herbal baths), and extensive use of wood. Comfortably equipped with a balcony or terrace. The decision to go on an Ayurveda vacation was exactly the right one for us. The hotel is magically beautiful, the cuisine at the Ayursoma (compared to the Manaltheeram, where we stayed two years ago) is much better - even if the restaurant area at the Manaltheeram is nicer and more atmospheric, but after my husband's riding accident, yoga and Ayurvedic treatment meant that he is physically well again after his rehab and he is happy to have made the trip. Desiree Kovats was a very good advisor in advance and everything went according to plan. I have often booked through Fitreisen, so the trip was once again a great success! Thank you very much.
