Carrying surfboards
The maximum dimensions of surfboards must not exceed 86 x 24 x 10 inches (length x width x height). If these dimensions are exceeded, an oversize fee of approximately 100 US dollars + taxes will be charged at the airport. From 1 January 2024, the fee will be raised to 164 US dollars + taxes.
A separate fee is charged for the transport of surfboards. The surf bag fees amount to US$ 70 + taxes per surf bag, per way, and must be paid in advance. The weight of the surfboard is still included in the passenger's free allowance of 20 kg, for example: a surfer brings a suitcase + 1 surf bag, the total free allowance is 20 kg, if exceeded, a fee of 3.11 US dollars + taxes per kg will be due.
