In the southwest of Sri Lanka, in the coastal town of Bentota and right on the beach, the family-run Amal Beach Hotel offers pure relaxation with views of the protected sandy beach and palm meadow. Experience culinary highlights in the open specialty restaurant, and enjoy relaxing treatments at the sister hotel, Amal Villa. The Amal Beach Hotel is ideal for couples where one person wishes to undergo an Ayurveda therapy while the other travels as a companion without therapy.

Dining & Leisure

Adjacent to the Amal Beach Hotel is the "Amal Restaurant", renowned especially for its seafood specialties (at an additional cost). Here, you can enjoy your breakfast, while lunch and dinner are served as a 3-course set menu. The open-air restaurant, with sea view and open to non-hotel guests as well, serves on two levels, in the garden, and on the beach. Ingredients for the Sinhalese, Indian, and international menus and à la carte dishes are sourced from the local market or directly from local fishermen. A candlelight dinner on the beach is also possible once a week (included for stays of 14 nights or more). For Ayurveda guests, meals are specially prepared according to the doctor's instructions.

Ayurveda Center

Step into the Amal Ayurvedic, SPA & Yoga Center, constructed from clay, featuring two Ayurvedic doctors and a skilled team of therapists. Simply cross Galle Road and enter the sister property, Amal Villa, where four treatment rooms await. Alternatively, enjoy treatments in the garden, enhanced by beautiful views and a gentle breeze. Your daily Ayurvedic treatments, tailored to your treatment plan, may include herbal oil massages, Nasya sinus cleansing, Shirodhara forehead oil flow, inhalation, acupuncture, and Ayurvedic sauna. Yoga and meditation are included for therapy guests, and available for a fee for non-therapy stays. Manicure and pedicure services are also available (for a fee).

Free Time

Guests are welcome to use the infinity pool at the sister hotel, Amal Villa, complete with loungers and umbrellas. Relax in the garden, home to a stunning array of birdlife, or take a stroll along the extensive fine sandy beach. Leisure activities (for a fee) include shopping trips to Bentota, cooking classes, boat tours on the Bentota River, water skiing, parasailing, excursions to the Sinharaja Rainforest, Udawalawe National Park, or Galle.

A dream vacation that will stay in my heart for a long time! I traveled alone - and yet I didn't feel alone for a second. On the contrary: from the very first moment I was welcomed with a warmth that was simply overwhelming. The entire team was attentive, courteous and always strived to make my stay unforgettable. Especially as a solo traveller, it was wonderful to feel how welcome and valued I was - almost like coming home. The food was an absolute delight, the atmosphere was relaxed and warm, and the beach bar with its fantastic view and first-class service was the icing on the cake. I am grateful for every moment in this hotel - it wasn't just a vacation, it was a balm for the soul. I will definitely be back!
