Location & Surroundings

In the north of Sri Lanka, about 124 miles/4 hours from Colombo, lies the ancient royal city of Anuradhapura. A city rich in cultural and religious heritage, it is part of the island's famous Cultural Triangle. Since 1980, the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its proximity to numerous attractions and national parks, there are various opportunities to explore the surroundings and be enchanted by the charm and hospitality of Sri Lanka.

Dining & Leisure

The vegetarian Ayurvedic dishes are prepared in collaboration with the Ayurveda doctors (fish upon recommendation). Emphasis is placed on a balanced and healthy diet with ingredients predominantly from organic farming.

Ayurveda Center

The Ayurveda Center, with around 25 Ayurveda therapists, is led by the Gunawardhana family. Dr. S. S. Gunawardhana is a renowned Ayurveda physician with over 40 years of experience, who has developed revolutionary treatment methods in the areas of cardiovascular diseases, female and male infertility, arthritis, diabetes, and neurological disorders. His son, Dr. Kasun Gunawardhana, who graduated from Gujarat Ayurveda University in Jamnagar, India, specializes in the treatment of paralysis, strokes, joint problems, Parkinson's, muscular dystrophy, and multiple sclerosis. High-quality Ayurvedic medicines are produced in their own manufacturing facility, which are later used during your Ayurveda therapy. In addition, the team at Adhitya Ayurveda conducts regular research and development activities in their own state-of-the-art laboratory.

The 12 treatment rooms exude a friendly atmosphere during the treatments. The treatments are tailored to each guest individually after an initial examination with the doctor, to effectively treat illnesses. Treatments include, for example, head, face, body, and foot massages, oil treatments, and warming herbal baths, but yoga and meditation are also integral parts. The center focuses on sustainability and aims to minimize the use of plastic in treatments. Daily yoga and meditation sessions are held alongside the therapy.

Free Time

The outdoor pool and whirlpool invite you to refresh and relax. A sauna is also available. The area around Adhitya offers numerous fascinating excursion opportunities. Visit the Sigiriya Monolith (about 46 miles) or the Wilpattu National Park (about 25 miles) and experience the unique flora and fauna up close. Excursions to Polonnaruwa and Dambulla, which together with Anuradhapura form the cultural triangle (at a charge), will bring you closer to the culture of Sri Lanka. There are also interesting excursion opportunities nearby, such as the "Weda Gama" herb garden (about 11 miles).
